FAQ's

What if I'm not sure about which team to join?

If you're not sure of your playing level, then just come to training and we will discuss it with you and allocate you to an appropriate  team.

How many teams are in each league?

State League Seniors/Reserves play in 12 team leagues (22 game season).

Metro league teams play in 10 team leagues (18 game season).

How long do games go for?

Games are for 90 minutes. 2 x 45 minute halves with a 15 minute half time break.

Is training attendance compulsory?

For our State League teams, training attendance is expected twice a week.

For our 'more social' Metro League teams, training is not compulsory but one (usually well-attended) session per week is held on Thursday nights.

Metro league players are welcome to attend pre-season training with State League squads on Thursday nights.

Where are competition matches played?

Senior teams play at Frog Hollow Reserve, Fordham Avenue , Camberwell.

Away games are at the grounds of opposition clubs, usually in the South-Eastern suburbs.

What do I bring to training?

To all training sessions, please bring the following:

  • Football boots

  • Runners

  • Water bottle

Note: Council restrictions prohibit boots to be worn during most of pre-season, so please ensure you bring runners.

Uniform/strip requirements?
  1. Electrical tape or velcro straps used on the outside of socks to keep shin guards in place and must be the same colour as the socks.  If the tape is positioned under the fold of the socks and therefore not visible, there is no issue.  Note – we wear royal blue socks.

  2. Any undershorts (commonly referred to as skins) must be the same colour as the shorts.  We wear royal blue shorts for both home and away games. Skin coloured skins are not permitted.

  3. Any long sleeve undershirts (eg. thermal or long sleeve skins) much be the same colour as the top being worn.  If any part of the undershirt is protruding it is not to show any logos or print.

  4. Goalkeepers are allowed to wear tracksuit pants.  No mention of colour restriction.

  5. Religious apparel such as a berka, turban, kippah/yarmulke, etc are allowed under FV rules.  Some colour restrictions may apply.

  6. Anything that is not visible during movement is not an issue.

  7. Watches and Jewellery (rings, earrings, chains, etc.) must not be worn as they are an injury hazard.
