First Senior Women’s Team Coach Appointed!

Riversdale Soccer Club is thrilled to announce a historic milestone, the appointment of Damian Babij as our first-ever Senior Women’s Team Coach.

This marks an exciting new chapter for Riversdale SC and a proud moment for our growing female football program.

With more than 35 years of experience in the game, Damian brings a wealth of knowledge and leadership to the role. His football journey has seen him play senior-level soccer across South Australia, Queensland and Victoria, competing in both NPL and Metro/Amateur leagues alongside some of the best players and coaches in the sport.

A Proven Leader in the Women’s Program

Over the past four years, Damian has already played a key role in the club’s success, guiding our girls’ U16+ program to new heights. Under his leadership, the program has seen remarkable growth in participation, development and team culture, inspiring a new generation of players to strive for more.

Building the Future of Women’s Football

Damian’s appointment is more than just a milestone, it’s a statement of intent. It reflects Riversdale SC’s commitment to building a clear pathway for female players, from juniors through to senior football, and creating more opportunities for women to lead, play and thrive in the game they love.

We couldn’t be more excited to see Damian lead our first Senior Women’s Team onto the field in 2026, a defining moment for our club and our community.
