New Life Members! Celebrating Two Club Legends: Pablo Pleydell and Nick Goss

Riversdale Soccer Club is proud to celebrate two of our own,  Pablo Pleydell and Nick Goss,  who have been awarded Life Membership in recognition of their incredible dedication, loyalty and service to the club.

Between them, Pablo and Nick represent nearly 40 years of commitment to Riversdale SC. Both began their football journeys as juniors and have grown into respected leaders within our senior playing group. Their paths reflect what makes our club so special,  a place where players stay, grow, and give back to the community that helped shape them.

From Mini-Roos to Life Member: 19 Years with Riversdale

Affectionately known as Pabs, Pablo has been part of Riversdale SC for an impressive 19 years. From his early playing days, he stood out not only for his skill but for his reliability, team spirit and deep love for the game. Over the years, he has become a cornerstone of the senior squad — a player who leads by example and always gives his all.

“I joined Riversdale as a 6-year-old in the Mini-Roos and have played all but two of the past 20 seasons. I’ve made some of my closest friends here and am so thankful for everything the club has given me.”

Off the field, Pabs has contributed just as much. His steady presence and genuine care for the club have made him a role model for younger players coming through the ranks. His journey is a powerful reflection of the culture that defines Riversdale SC: where commitment runs deep, and loyalty lasts a lifetime.

Two Decades. One Team. Endless Memories.

Nick, or Gossey as he’s known around the club, marks two decades of involvement with Riversdale. Starting out as a junior, he has grown into a key figure in the senior group, respected for his consistency, leadership and quiet determination.

“I started Goal Kick with the Dales in 2006 and have played in every season since through Juniors into Senior football. I’ve met some of my closest mates through the club, and have so many fond memories from the last 20 years with Riversdale. A few highlights would have to be the U17 final penalty shootout win, making my senior debut and wearing the armband for the first time for the club.”

Gossey’s influence extends beyond match days. His professionalism, passion and willingness to support teammates embody the best of what our club stands for. His 20-year journey is a testament to what can happen when talent meets dedication and community spirit.

A Reflection of Our Club Culture

Pabs and Gossey are more than just long-serving players, they are part of the foundation that keeps Riversdale strong. Their stories remind us why community football matters: because it builds not only players, but lifelong friendships, mentors and leaders.

As we celebrate their achievements, we also acknowledge everyone, past and present, who contributes to the culture of growth, respect and belonging that defines Riversdale SC.

Please join us in congratulating Pablo Pleydell and Nick Goss on their well-deserved Life Membership. Their commitment is a source of pride for the entire club, and we thank them for their remarkable contributions on and off the field.
